There are lots of online music retailers out there, many of them with lots of very good arrangements available to find. But the challenge is, well, finding them. For the superabundance of available material, there is also often a lack of concision when presenting search results and other items that might interest the user. It’s easy to get lost in a sea of badly-organised links, and just give up.
Here at OlivePress Music you will notice our compositions and arrangements organised into five distinct categories. Each one is named simply and clearly, and is reasonably self-explanatory. At the time of writing, none of the catalogues are so over-bloated with arrangements that you’ll get lost trying to find what you need. Everything is right where you need it.
For Pop Covers
Our most popular category (get it? Sorry…), For Pop Covers provides a growing list of classic function band tunes, primarily featuring parts for horn players in the correct keys: Alto and Tenor Sax, Trumpet and Trombone. Each one also comes with a chart for the band leader, showing horn cues.
For Piano
Inside our For Piano catalogue you will find a few subcategories, including original pieces, easy pieces for education, and a few arrangements from the ‘Play Jazz with Ben’ series. These last are proving popular on YouTube as people all over the world use Ben’s arrangements to find their way into jazz harmony.
For Choir
For Choir gathers arrangements of pop songs, many of which come arranged for multiple configurations. Each configuration is named with a link to the correct listing, including where accompanying band parts are available. These are great for school and community ensembles. Links are also provided inside For Choir to works that may appear in other catalogues, such as Jerusalem for small orchestral ensemble and tutti choir.
For Large Ensemble
This catalogue features a few arrangements useful to community and youth orchestras, with works such as Jerusalem proving popular especially for smaller ensembles. It is also home to an exciting new project called Debussy Orchest, featuring orchestral arrangements of some of Debussy’s much-loved piano works, aimed especially at youth orchestras.
For Christmas
Finally, our For Christmas catalogue gathers a collection of carols specifically arranged for 4-part choir, string quartet, piano and flexible woodwind. If this ensemble sounds perfect for your next candlelit carol service, look no further.
